Part Time Positions

SWIMMING POOL ASSISTANT MANAGER

Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities including personnel management and training. Duties involve all swimming pool operations, including first aid, rotations, scheduling for staff, limited pool maintenance including daily chemical analysis/testing, pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms, locker rooms, and all other duties as necessary or required.  This employee should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. This is a working supervisory position requiring weekend and holiday work.

Pay scale $12.50-14.00 per hour.

LIFEGUARD

Applicants must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Previous life guarding experience is preferred. Ability to supervise customers of all ages and enforce safety procedures, rules and policies. Lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Pay scale $10.50-11.50 per hour.

SWIMMING POOL CASHIER

Responsibilities will include calculating admission fees, handling money and providing change, keeping daily attendance records, answering the telephone. Additional duties will include cleaning the facility and performing other related duties as assigned. Must be 14 years old and older.

Pay scale $8.50-9.50 per hour.

CONCESSIONS WORKER

Concessions
Applicants should have good customer service skills, ability to work independently, feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment and confident with handling money and making change. The ideal candidate should be able to follow food safety guidelines and other park policies. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Pay scale $8.00-10.00 per hour.

RUSTAD REC CENTER BUILDING ATTENDANT

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, opening and closing the building, setting up private rentals, overseeing rentals, open gyms, and completing minor custodial duties. Applicants should have good customer service skills and an attention to detail. Part time position, weekday evenings and weekends will be required.

Pay scale $10.50-11.50 per hour.

PARK MAINTENANCE

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities include operation of hand push mowers and string trimmers, planting and weeding and other park maintenance as needed. Hours will be 7:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday with a one hour lunch break.

Pay scale $11.00-13.00 per hour.

ZAMBONI DRIVER

Duties include, but not limited to operating ice re-surfacer (Zamboni), ice maintenance, facility cleaning and maintenance, sharpen ice skates. Applicants must be 18 years or older. Please complete an application and return to office or Veterans Memorial Arena.

Pay scale $11.00-13.00 per hour.

SPECIAL EVENT STAFF

Applicants will assist with set up, tear down and various other aspects of working community events. Applicants should be able to multitask, have strong customer service skills and be able to follow instructions. Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds may be required. Dates and times vary; hours are very limited – 25 hours throughout the entire summer.

Pay scale $10.00 per hour.

ADULT BASKETBALL SCORE KEEPER

Duties include greeting and directing teams to the assigned court, maintaining the scoreboard in a high detail manner, assisting with clean up and knowledge of basketball/league rules. Must be available to work Monday evenings.

Pay scale $10.00-11.00 per hour.

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUE SUPERVISOR

This position will be responsible for implementing league rules and disciplining league participants as needed. Ensuring games stay on schedule and relaying any additional information to participants will be required. Additional duties include greeting and directing teams to the correct court, maintaining the scoreboard for games in a high detail manner, set up and clean-up of court and equipment.

Pay scale $12.00-13.00 per hour.

YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL COACH

Individuals must be at least 16 years of age. Responsibilities include supervising and coaching youth baseball and softball games. Individuals must possess good public relation skills with children and parents. Complete knowledge of baseball/softball rules and the ability to lead drills and coach games. Hours are Monday-Thursday mornings, early afternoons and evenings after 5pm, June 1-August 3 with 14-22 hours per week.

Pay scale $9.00-11.00 per hour.

YOUTH SOCCER COACH

Individuals must be at least 16 years of age. Responsibilities include supervising and coaching youth soccer games and instructing drills. Individuals must possess good public relation skills with children and parents. Complete knowledge of soccer rules is mandatory. Mondays and Wednesday evenings are required. This position is from June 5-July 19.

Pay scale $10.00-12.00 per hour.

DODGE BALL LEAGUE SUPERVISOR

Duties include greeting and directing teams to the assigned court, maintaining scoreboard for games in a high detail manner, setting up of court and equipment and cleaning up after games. The League Supervisor is required to implement league rules and discipline to league participants if needed, maintain schedules and relay important information to league participants. Must be available to work Sunday afternoons/evenings.

Pay scale $12.00-13.00 per hour.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL OFFICIAL

Applicants must have played volleyball in the past or are currently playing or refereeing and are familiar with high school rules and USA Volleyball standards of play. Applicants will be required to interact with the public on an on-going basis in the role of a referee (players and public), officiate games in a fair manner, demonstrates extensive knowledge of the rules and interacts with players, league coordinator and spectators in a respectful and cooperative manner. Officials will work closely with the league coordinator and ensures player and spectator satisfaction and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and league coordinator. Must be able to work Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:30pm from May 30-August 2.

Pay scale $15.00-19.00 per hour.

SUMMER VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE COORDINATOR

Applicants for this position must have volleyball experience (either playing or officiating), and be familiar with High School and USA Volleyball standards. The League Coordinator responsibilities will include having equipment ready for league play (balls out, nets set at correct heights, schedules and score sheets prepared, etc.), managing officials and coaches/making sure they are on time for work, ensuring timely play by teams, recording scores, returning equipment to storage and performing light cleanup of play area. Ability to explain and interpret league rules (provided), collect rosters, ensure all rosters and waivers are complete and filed accordingly and contact captains as needed with important information will also be required of this position. League coordinator will interact with players, officials and spectators in a respectful and cooperative manner. This position will be responsible for coordinating both a youth and adult league. Must be able to work 5:00-10:00pm Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from May 30-August 2. Must be 18 and older to apply.

Pay scale $13.00-17.00 per hour.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL COACH

Applicants will coach youth in grades 3rd-6th and will be responsible for all aspects of directing the team’s practice and play during games. During matches, coaches from each team will take turns officiating a game. There will be 45 minutes of practice and one match each night. Must have knowledge of volleyball rules and some volleyball officiating experience. Youth leagues will run on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00pm from June 6-July 26.

Pay scale $10.00-12.00 per hour.
