Get out and Play!

Ages 4-10+

Join SheyWest for a summer boot camp highlighting our North Dakota growing season! We will review gardening 101 and have fun learning about everything from roots to blooms on our show garden plants. This four-day green adventure will be a perfect end-of-summer party where learning and fun sprout together. Let’s dig in and make gardening memories!

Ages 9-14

With the assistance of the West Fargo Police & Fire Departments, we are thrilled to offer this program to prepare your child to stay home alone. Topics covered will include safety expectations, accident prevention and emergency planning. Each participant will receive review questions and an emergency magnet to personalize with their family after the class. Parents are encouraged to join the last 15 minutes of Home Alone Safety to ask questions and view a fire extinguisher demonstration.

The Camp-A-Day Adaptive Recreation Program is for youth with developmental disabilities.  Campers will be provided with recreational activities, including crafts and field trips.  Register according to the grade attended during the 2023-2024 academic school year.  The Park District provides transportation for the field trips, however, it is the parent’s responsibility to arrange transportation to and from Camp-A-Day.  All participants must have a current IEP from the school district and complete the application for Special needs prior to attending camp.  This form will be available online or at the park office and should be turned in with the registration form.

Camp-A-Day is not available for online registration. For more information, please contact Logan at Logan@wfparks.org.  This camp is only offered in the summer.

SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM APPLICATION

Ages 8-11

Join the West Fargo Police Department and the West Fargo Fire Department for three days of hands-on activities and education at the Hometown Heroes Academy! This interactive camp will include an obstacle and bike course, emergency vehicle tours, safety stations, and more. Vision Zero and Safe Kids Fargo Moorhead will also be involved in the fun! Campers should bring their bikes to the first day of this program, Monday, July 15. On the last day, Wednesday, July 17 participants will meet at The Lights in West Fargo and will have the opportunity to tour the West Fargo Southside Fire Station. On the last day of the camp, we will meet for 2 hours instead of 3 hours.

Ages 7-11

Are you ready to explore the Red River Valley Fair? Each day will be PACKED with various activities including tours, STEM projects, livestock shows, entertainment and more! The camp will include annual favorites and feature new attractions. During this rain or shine camp, two t-shirts, and daily snacks will be provided. A gate admission fee is not required. The Red River Valley Fairgrounds are located at 1805 Main Avenue West in West Fargo. Campers will meet at the Fair Information Building located near the Butler Machinery Arena to begin and end each day.

This camp is offered in July during the Red River Valley Fair.

Ages 7-12

Campers will learn about daily life on the prairie including starting the day at an early farmstead cabin, attending a lesson, and playing historic games at the schoolhouse, and visiting the local general store. Attendees will get the chance to make their own butter, have a healthy snack, and make a craft from the “good old days”. Campers will meet at Bonanzaville, which is located at 1351 W. Main Ave in West Fargo.

Ages 7-12

From horse-drawn carriages, all the way to jet-powered airplanes, campers will get the chance to learn about transportation technology in the Red River Valley. Participants will have the opportunity to not only look at, but actually get into some of these incredible machines. Each child will have a healthy snack and make a transportation-themed craft to take home. Campers will meet at Bonanzaville, which is located at 1351 W. Main Ave in West Fargo.
