Baseball, T-Ball & Softball

Please request an appropriate t-shirt size for your child. We will not have extra shirts to exchange. T-shirts are sponsored by SCHEELS.

All baseball/softball levels will be based on grade completed as of 2026/2027 school year. Girls and boys will play together for T-ball and Rookies.

Team schedules will be emailed and posted online. Team rosters will be set up according to school attending, please specify the school your child attends or will be attending.

Equipment: Players should bring their own baseball glove with them to practice every day. Bats will be provided. The West Fargo Park District highly recommends players supply their own helmet for hygienic reasons. Helmets can be purchased at local sporting goods stores. Helmets will be provided for those who do not purchase one on their own. Helmets at the Parent Tot Tball level are not required since they are not pitched to. All participants should bring a water bottle with them each day. Please label your child’s equipment with their name and phone number.

Our T-Ball program for 4-year-olds is designed to introduce young children to the fundamentals of baseball in a fun, positive, and engaging environment. Throwing, fielding, running bases and batting off a tee will be introduced. This beginner-friendly program focuses on helping players build confidence, develop basic motor skills, and learn the foundations of teamwork, all while having a great time on the field. Parents will work hands-on with their child while being led by a coach. Helmets are not required for the parent/tot level.

Each child will be placed on a team and receive a t-shirt. Practice and game times vary by week, so please check the schedule carefully.

A schedule will be communicated at least 1 week before the program begins. The program will not meet on March 27, 2027.

The Modified T-Ball program is designed to bridge the gap between entry-level T-ball and more advanced beginner baseball. This program introduces slightly more structured play while keeping the focus on fun, skill-building, and positive social experiences. It’s perfect for young players who are ready for a little more challenge while still enjoying an age-appropriate, supportive environment.

Players will start by hitting off of a tee. Once players are comfortable, coaches will start pitching underhand. Players will have 3 attempts to hit the pitch. If players are not ready for pitching or are unsuccessful on their 3 attempts, a tee will be used.

Helmets are required for this program. We recommend that players supply their own helmets to for hygienic purposes, but the helmets will also be provided.

Our Rookies Baseball program for 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls provides young athletes with a fun, encouraging, and development-focused introduction to the game of baseball. Designed for players who have basic familiarity with the sport or are ready to move beyond T-ball, this program combines skill-building, teamwork, and age-appropriate competition. A soft baseball will be used.

Helmets are required for this program. We recommend that players supply their own helmets to for hygienic purposes, but the helmets will also be provided.
