West Fargo Park District
Memorial Tree Program
The West Fargo Park District can help you honor someone special by planting a tree in the park system. These trees are a great way to acknowledge a friend or family member while adding a valuable contribution to the urban forest.
As part of the Memorial Tree Program, you will pick from a list of trees, select a location, and our forestry staff will plant your tree. Your gift includes a personalized memorial plaque, which will be placed next to the tree. Beyond that, we will care for the tree for life.
Trees, besides being beautiful, are a great asset to the environment in that they aid in purifying our air, provide housing for many species, shade us and help cool our streets, protect against wind, floods, and water pollution, and provide us with stress relief in general. The pros are endless. Trees that bloom in the spring help pollinators do their job to grow fruit while certain trees will give us a free show of their fall color and seasonal splendor.
Availability for trees and locations may vary. Planting in the spring provides the best selection of trees, but the park district team can plant anytime up to late fall.
